My Hope...

It is such a joy to be able to share the knowledge and experience I have with the SCD with you - to give you hope for freedom from your disease or condition!
As I think about the hope that I hold close to my heart in my life, I realize that I am so blessed to have two kinds of hope...There is the hope I have for freedom from Crohn's Disease through this diet. And then I also have a much deeper and lasting hope - one that is for my soul forever. I guess you might think of it as hope with a capital "H." It's my joy to give you this gift of knowledge about the SCD to help you have freedom from your symptoms here on earth. Did you know that in a similar way, it is God's joy to give you freedom from the disease of sin? While the gift of the SCD is temporal for your time on earth, His gift is forever! How could I offer you the hope of being physically well, but not share with you about how you can have peace with God and have Hope forever? This deeper Hope is all because I know God and have experienced His forgiveness for my sin... I have the peace of His love and help in this world - no matter what may happen in my life - and I have the Hope of life in a perfect world with Him after this life is over. When bad things happen to us, we tend to question God...When we get sick we might wonder why would a loving God allow this disease to wreak havoc on my body? Or why does He allow bad things to happen? |
Did you know that God at the start created the world to be a perfect place? His original plan for us was to have flawless, healthy bodies and a world without sadness, sickness, evil, and pain...But then people sinned and brought God's judgment on the world. Things weren't perfect anymore... sickness, evil, and every hopeless thing you can imagine entered the world.
God said that the payment for our sin must be death. But God had great mercy on us and sent His only Son to die for us in our place. And He said that all we have to do to claim this gift of forgiveness is to accept it. Is that a great deal or what? :-) And not only that, but God promises to guide us through this life, to hear us when we talk to Him, and to answer us - no matter what the problem or issue He is there to help you when you call. He answered my prayer for healing through letting me find the SCD, and He cares about you too. And after this life, He promises that everyone who trusts in Him will receive a new, perfect body that will never get sick, and that He will make a new perfect world that will be better than anything we have ever experienced...the world as He first created it!
